The Role:

We are searching for a Senior Rust Developer. You can be a perfect candidate if you are growth-oriented, you take pleasure in your work, and you enjoy working on new ideas to develop exciting products. What we are looking for:

• You have +4 years of solid experience as a Rust Developer in a top-notch environment;

• You have +3 years of experience in building a scalable blockchain-based application architecture;

• You have extensive experience with any other low-level backend programming language (C/C++, Go, etc.);

• You have previous experience in building enterprise-grade solutions for specialized platforms (Blockchain, AI, Finance, HTS, etc.);

• Responsible and able to work with minimal supervision;

• Upper-intermediate English level;

• You can communicate well with both technical and non-technical clients.

Nice-to-have:

• Willingness to learn blockchain technology in order to help blockchain engineers in developing software;

• Good knowledge of security best practices;

• Comfortable setting up an environment from scratch;

• Timezone: CET (+/- 3 hours).

Responsibilities:

• Participating in a research process about traits, solutions, trends, and security measures required for the proper use of blockchain technology;

• Writing and helping maintain automated tests;

• Identifying security risks;

• Providing accurate timing estimates on work;

• Collaborating with the stakeholders.

Your responsibilities and requirements:

• Test current products and identify deficiencies (including mobile native apps, web apps and back-end applications)
• The ability to create testing automation scripts (strong SQL and scripting knowledge, ideally JavaScript)
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Suggest solutions to identified product problems
• Investigate product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction
• Plan, create and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy
• Collaborate with the Product Development team to ensure consistent project execution
• Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement
• Oversee continuous improvement projects
• Collect quality data
• Identify key KPIs for product quality
• Prepare and present reports and metrics to Senior Management
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
• Ideally: knowledge of the blockchain technologies, crypto terminology, and processes
• Nice to have: understanding of blockchain and its related concepts

We are looking for someone to help us develop and implement the Joystream protocol and blockchain. You will be an integral part of the team, and be given plenty of freedom and autonomy to explore, learn and build.

• Build the Joystream protocol and blockchain

Requirements

• 3+ Years software engineering experience
• 1+ Years working in blockchain domain, can be substituted for with deep conceptual understanding and practical experience
• Familiarity with p2p protocols, e.g. DHTs, gossip networks, BitTorrent, IPFs, Dat
• Experience in smart contract development, e.g. Ethereum/EVM/solidity or tendermint/Cosmos-sdk or similar
• Solid understanding of applied crypto primitives
• Systems programming is a plus, e.g. in Go, Rust, C++

Ideally, you would be located or willing to relocate to Oslo, but working remotely is also an option. In the latter case, you would have to be located in a reasonably suitable time zone, and expect to travel to Oslo up to four times a year.
